PALO ALTO, Calif., January 27, 2026 — A leading U.S.-based financial services organization is modernizing its data infrastructure in partnership with Striim, a leader in real-time data integration and intelligence. The organization is replacing legacy data replication technology with a unified, real-time streaming platform to support high-volume transactional workloads, reduce operational risk, and enable real-time analytics, reporting, and AI-driven use cases across the enterprise.
The firm had relied on AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) to replicate data from its highly transactional, Oracle-based core systems into distributed Amazon MSK (Kafka) clusters that support analytics and reporting. As transaction volumes increased, the legacy architecture struggled to meet performance requirements.
During peak periods—including month-end processing, partition maintenance windows, and patching cycles—replication lag regularly exceeded eight hours. In some cases, delays extended beyond archive log retention windows, forcing expensive full reloads and introducing significant operational risk.
To address these challenges, the organization selected Striim to establish an enterprise-grade, real-time streaming layer capable of operating reliably under extreme production workloads. Using Striim’s high-performance Ojet adapter, the firm validated real-time ingestion against live production volumes, processing more than 250 million events over a week during peak month end volumes, while maintaining consistently low and predictable latency.
In head-to-head evaluation against AWS DMS and other alternatives, Striim delivered 390× faster throughput with 33× lower maximum latency, while fully isolating mission-critical source systems from replication load. The production deployment was fully automated using infrastructure-as-code and deployed in just two weeks, accelerating time-to-value and reducing operational complexity.
With Striim, the organization will:
- Replace legacy DMS-based replication with ultra-low latency, real-time streaming pipelines.
- Stream data from Oracle source systems into Amazon MSK (Kafka) for analytics, reporting, and AI/ML workloads.
- Eliminate replication bottlenecks during peak processing windows and maintenance activities.
- Improve observability and resilience across mission-critical data pipelines.
- Establish a scalable, unified streaming platform that can expand to additional sources such as Salesforce, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
As part of a broader data strategy, the firm is investing in foundational capabilities rather than point solutions: building a trusted, real-time data platform designed to support personalization, advanced analytics, and AI-driven engagement across its financial services offerings.
Nadim Antar, Chief Revenue Officer at Striim, commented:
“Financial services organizations operating at this scale require absolute confidence in their data pipelines. This customer’s evaluation demonstrated how dramatically real-time performance improves when legacy replication is replaced with a purpose-built streaming platform. We’re proud to support their journey toward a real-time data foundation that will power analytics, AI, and innovation across the enterprise.”
