Striim Recognized by Independent Research Firm as a Strong Performer in Big Data Streaming Analytics

Report Cites Striim’s Real-Time Change Data Capture (CDC) Capabilities and Positioning for Internet of Things (IoT) Applications Based on Philosophy to Provide Insights the Moment They Are Born

PALO ALTO, CA, May 10, 2016 – Striim, Inc., providers of an end-to-end, streaming integration + intelligence platform, today announced that it has been recognized as a “Strong Performer” in Big Data Streaming Analytics in the recently published report titled, “The Forrester Wave™: Big Data Streaming Analytics, Q1 2016.” The report notes that the Striim™ platform is able to “…ingest streaming data from many sources, including streaming change data capture (CDC) from transactions in databases.”

The report further states that “all data is born fasStriim Recognized by the Forrester Wave as a Strong Performer in Big Data Streaming Analyticst,” and that “most AD&D pros aren’t fully exploiting real-time streaming data that flows from IoT devices and mobile, web, and enterprise apps.” The report goes on to point out that, “Striim’s philosophy, to provide insights the moment they are born, positions it well for IoT applications.”

Why is Streaming Analytics important? Forrester Research suggests that, “Streaming analytics solutions can capture perishable insights on real-time data to bring immediate context to all IoT, mobile, web, and enterprise apps.”

In the report, Forrester defines Streaming Analytics as, “Software that can filter, aggregate, enrich, and analyze a high throughput of data from multiple, disparate live data sources and in any data format to identify simple and complex patterns to provide applications with context to detect opportune situations, automate immediate actions, and dynamically adapt.”

The Striim platform is widely used to ingest data from enterprise databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, and HPE NonStop via CDC, and move that data in real time to a wide variety of targets including Hadoop, Kafka, Amazon S3 and Redshift, NoSQL databases, and traditional databases/data warehouses. While the data is streaming, Striim applications can filter, aggregate, enrich, and correlate streams to immediately trigger analytics, alerts and workflows, all of which can be visualized through real-time dashboards.

“We are honored to be recognized as a Strong Performer in the Forrester Wave for Big Data Streaming Analytics,” said Steve Wilkes, founder and CTO of Striim. “As the only end-to-end platform that natively integrates the various components of streaming analytics – including change data capture, real-time data integration, processing, loading, and visualization – we believe that Forrester Research has validated both our market and the value Striim provides.”
