PALO ALTO, CA, February 9, 2016Striim, providers of an end-to-end streaming analytics platform, today announced that it has been credited in a 451 Research Impact Report for delivering both real-time data integration and operational intelligence within a single solution. The report details the functionality offered to enterprises that need to integrate data from a variety of sources, and make use of it within milliseconds.

“Since we expect streaming technologies to get a shot in the arm from the emergence of Internet of Things (IoT) use cases, we think Striim has been canny with its design criteria. Its technology platform doesn’t only offer streaming data integration, analytics or alerting: it offers all three,” writes Jason Stamper, 451 Research Analyst. “Equally wisely, the company is incorporating open source tools such as Apache Kafka, Hive and ElasticSearch to save on development costs, and also allow companies to take advantage of existing infrastructure.”

In the report, 451 Research details recent milestones of the company, including the rebranding to Striim (pronounced “stream” – the two ‘i’s are for integration and intelligence), a number of high-caliber additions to the management team, and a $20m funding round led by Intel Capital. The report examines the capabilities of the Striim platform; from integrating data from a variety of sources in real time, to processing and transforming it within milliseconds, to correlating across multiple streams, identifying patterns, and triggering alerts and visualizations while the data is in-motion.

The report also assesses the competitive landscape of other vendors attempting to compile an open source streaming analytics platform, concluding that this approach may prove to be both time-consuming and costly.

“The technology that businesses and their customers use today – mobile, IoT, cloud, and storage –are generating ever-increasing volumes of data. To create real-time insights that a business can leverage in-time and in-context demands that this data be collected as it’s generated, and continually processed,” said Katherine Rincon, Vice President of Marketing at Striim. “By combining streaming data integration and operational intelligence, our customers are able to immediately focus on the data that is important to their business, and use it to respond faster to their customers, make better decisions, and increase their bottom line.”
