According to eWeek’s Chris Preimesberger, the world needs to “get ready for a new category called streaming analytics, which is based on real-time streaming integration.” Covering the announcement of WebAction’s $20 million in Series B funding led by Intel Capital, Chris commented that the company is betting on the idea that the fundamental problem with streaming analytics is, in fact, streaming data integration.
He points out that no one thus far has attempted to deliver streaming analytics with built-in streaming data integration. However, the article signals WebAction’s Striim platform shows early success by the fact that companies in financial services, telco, retail, gaming and the Internet of things (IoT) have all seen successful deployments of the solution.
Along with Intel Capital, the round included existing investors Summit Partners, Frank Caufield and Regis McKenna. They were joined by Panorama Point Partners and a new unnamed investor.
