Configuring a Validation
The lifecycle of a validation comprises several stages including:
Creating a new Validation,
Running a Validation,
Reviewing Validation Runs reports,
Reconciling discrepancies in the data systems based on the Validation Runs, and
Modifying an existing Validation.
In this section, we describe the design-time activities involved in creating and managing Validations. You will learn how to set up a new Validation and how to modify an existing one. Specifically, we cover:
Creating a new Validation and setting the basic settings (validation scope and method, connecting to data systems) and advanced settings (validation schedule, wait time to revalidation, and halt threshold)
Configuring Interval Validation (when applicable)
Configuring Custom Validation (when applicable)
Creating and Configuring Validation Pairs (selecting tables and columns and mapping them)
After you have configured a validation, you can execute it and review the results. See Managing validation runs for information about running validations, monitoring progress, interpreting reports, and reconciling out-of-sync records.
