System requirements
The following are the minimum requirements for the Validata server.
CPU cores
at least 16, or more depending on application requirements (single server only)
Memory
at least 64 GB, or more depending on the size of the datasets being compared in validations
Free disk space
at least 500 GB
free disk space must never drop below 10% on the server
The following will increase disk space requirements:
large datasets being compared in validations
the Validata Historian if hosted on the internal Derby instance (see Configuring Validata Historian)
server log files (see Logging
Certified operating systems
The following operating systems have been certified with Validata.
64-bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9.4
64-bit Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and 24.04 LTS
Supported Java environments
The following are the recommended and supported Java environments:
recommended: Oracle SE Development Kit 17 (required to useKerberos authentication for Oracle or PostgreSQL); for a license, contact Oracle License Management Service
Download the appropriate x64 installer from Java SE 17 Archive Downloads (JDK 17.0.13 and later) or Java SE 17 Archive Downloads (17.0.12 and earlier) and follow the instructions in Installation of the JDK on Linux Platforms.
also supported: OpenJDK 17
Firewall / open ports
The following ports must be open inbound (and, as noted, outbound).
on servers where you want remote access, port 22 for SSH and/or SCP
on servers running the web UI, port 9080 (http) and/or 9081 (https) for TCP (or see Configuring the Web UI)
Supported web browser
The web client has been tested on Chrome. Other web browsers may work, but if you encounter bugs, try Chrome. Some ad-blocking plugins may prevent the UI from loading. Other browser plugins may interfere with Validata's web client.
Validata AI (Ollama deployments)
The following additional requirements apply when using Ollama for Validata AI:
Component | Minimum requirement | Recommended for good performance |
|---|---|---|
GPU VRAM | 16 GB (absolute minimum to load model fully with quantization) | 24 GB or more for smooth inference |
System RAM | 16 GB | 32–64 GB (headroom for context and offloading) |
CPU | Modern multicore processor | 8–16 cores with fast PCIe 4.0/5.0 lanes |
Storage | 13–14 GB free space for model files | 500 GB fast NVMe SSD |
