Enabling the rapid adoption of Azure Cosmos DB through streaming integration from any enterprise or cloud data source using Striim. It enables schemeless data to be replicated across the world, access through multiple API’s, and scaled elastically to meet challenging enterprise SLA’s. However, much of your data may currently be elsewhere locked up on-premise or a variety of clouds, in files, Mongo DB, operational databases, IoT devices, and other locations. And you want to continuously deliver this data into Azure Cosmos DB so you’re always acting on current information. We will demonstrate how Striim can provide continuous data integration into Azure Cosmos DB through a pipeline for the collection, processing and delivery of enterprise data including sourcing from Mongo DB, operational databases, and files. Striim’s wizard-based UI makes it easy to continuously and non-intrusively ingest all the enterprise data from a variety of sources in real time. We’ll start by moving data from Mongo DB on premise to Azure Cosmos DB. The wizard steps through the process configuring reading from Mongo DB including initial load and right into Cosmos DB. This results in a data flow when the flow is started. The full contents of the Mongo DB collection is loaded into Azure Cosmos DB. We change tracking so any subsequent inserts, updates, and deletes will be continuously applied. You can see how after many modifications, the data in Mongo DB and Azure cosmos DB are still identical. 

Striim’s ability to process data is essential for non document sources. This example live change data from the on-premise database is being processed and enriched by joining it with in-memory context information. This is done in-flight by SQL-based queries before being delivered as a document to Azure Cosmos DB. And this example takes live weblog data, transforms it, and immediately creates documents that can be queried and used for the basis of analytics in real time.
