Create and test the initial load application

When the source and target databases are the same type (for example, PostgreSQL to Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL), the source and target tables are identical, and you use the databases' native tools to copy the source tables to the target, this step is unnecessary.

In other cases, use SMSGC's App Wizard to create an initial load application. Initial load applications use the templates with Database sources. (The templates with CDC sources are for streaming integration.) Once you have created the application, run it for a while to verify that the data is being written to the target, then truncate the target tables.
