Striim 3.9.6 documentation

Notes on writing to Cosmos DB with DatabaseWriter
  • When writing to Cosmos DB, DatabaseWriter uses the Cassandra API. The Cassandra driver 3.6.0 is bundled with Striim.

  • Add a Baltimore root certificate to Striim's Java environment following the instructions in To add a root certificate to the cacerts store.

  • As the username, specify the first part of the connection string (in the example shown in Secure access to data in Azure Cosmos DB, azure-documentdb). For the password, specify the primary key.

  • Target tables must have primary keys.

  • Primary keys can not be updated.

  • If DatabaseWriter exceeds the number of Request Units per second provisioned for your Cosmos DB instance (see Request Units in Azure Cosmos DB), the application will crash.
